Ski resort Courchevel is located in Savoie Alps and is part of the largest ski area in the world – Les Trois Vallées (the Three valleys). Founded in 1946, it is among the most elite and fashionable resorts in Europe. It consists of four self-contained complex, located at different altitudes, and bearing the names of those altitudes: Courchevel 1850, Courchevel 1650, Courchevel 1550 and Courchevel 1300.

It is a favorite resting place of French (and not only) the cream of society, arriving right at the mini-airport in the middle of the slopes. Magnificent hotels and restaurants of Courchevel 1850 are among the best and most expensive in the Alps. High prices, however, should not repel from the resort as a whole: in the cottages lower down the prices are not exorbitant, and the slopes are also beautiful. Complexes-the village of Courchevel reflect all aspects of life in the Savoie with their little churches, picturesque chalets and lively streets. The traditional charm of the resort is particularly evident in the villages of St Bon and Le Praz (Courchevel 1300). Courchevel 1550 is ideally suited for families, lively Courchevel 1650 more popular among young people.
